Technical Education – Post-Matric Technical Education

The start of technical education in India dates back to the first 19th century. During the last three decades, technical education within the country has attained great heights. There are a well-organized structure and a good network of technical institutes offering different programs. These include craftsman courses, technician (diploma) courses; graduate and postgraduate courses, and also research programs. These programs inculcate knowledge, skills, and competencies among scholars.

In India, all educational institutes which are providing management education are certified by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). The management study and training within the country accompany a spread of names –Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Management Studies (MMS), Master in Finance Control (MFC), PG Diploma in Business Management, Post-Graduate Program publicly Management & Policy (PGP-PMP), Master of Public Administration (MPA), PG. Diploma in Management (PGDIM). Diploma in Human Resource Management (PGDHRM), PG as well as a Diploma in Financial Management (PGDFM). PG. Diploma in Operations Management (PGDM), PG. Diploma in Marketing Management (PGDMM) then on. During the course, there are prospects of internship from campus providing a glimpse into the operation of a corporation. There is ample scope for role-playing and other simulations to develop skills in relevant areas.

Some common names within the world of management education are the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). There are six IIMs within the country located in various cities. These institutes are famous worldwide for imparting quality management education to the scholars of the country.

Prospects and Initiatives

India is renowned for producing graduates of the very best caliber. But only a really few compared with its population receive top quality technical education. India has over the years significantly bolstered the standard and availability of technical education.

So, there’s a dire need of backing up conventional study and teaching technical education, because it won’t only help within the development of the country, but also the person possessing those skills.

For acquiring technical education, there are two structural streams in India – formal and informal. Polytechnics, Industrial Training Institutes, Industrial Training Centers, centrally sponsored scheme of vocation application of education by the Ministry of Human Resource Development are a few of the formal sources of technical education in India. Whereas self-learning and little private institutes providing short term technical course are covered under informal one

New industrial and labor trends in India have clearly specified the necessity of technical education. But, the bottom of technical education must be made strong. At the secondary level of education and a clear-cut path for the scholars to maneuver ahead during this field must be made.

Technical Education imparts

Technical education, that is, education in some art or craft is that the crying need of the hour. We live within the times when old concepts of education have undergone a change. We aren’t in need of liberal education, education that suggests training in fine arts, humanities, cultural patterns, and behavior. The aims at deve­loping a man’s personality because it was within the pre-independence days. we’d like skilled workers. Our industries are yet in infancy. we’d like engineers to man them. we’d like mechanized farming to extend the output of corn.
